SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Applicants must be Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivors who are U.S. citizens or verifiable permanent residents working toward a degree or certificate in mental health, social justice, civil law, electronics, communications, or feline care. Applicants must be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, at an accredited college, university, or technical school in the state of Florida. All required scholarship application documents must be received by the specified deadline.

Selection is based on the applicant’s life goals and desire for achievement in spite of his or her limitations, as detailed in his or her essay.

Scholarship Amount: $250
(One time payment paid directly to the verified school of enrollment on behalf of the applicant.)

Application requirements
Application deadline: August 5, 2020
(Application period opens April 2020)

Applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application
- Verifiable proof of a traumatic brain injury in the form of a surgeon or physician certification
- A copy of the applicant’s current college academic transcript or proof of acceptance and registration at an accredited college, university, or technical school.
- A short essay describing how the applicant intends to help the world in spite of his or her injury
- Legal proof of U.S. residency (i.e. birth certificate, permanent resident card)
- Complete information for the college, university, or technical school student financial services division where the scholarship funds would be sent on the applicant’s behalf
